The Ron Clark Academy students and staff started the year with music, fun and coordination in the school’s gym turned skating rink.

Co-founders Kim Bearden and Ron Clark take a few spins, do the Cupid Shuffle on skates and start the year with great energy!

Things quickly get serious as students put on their academy jackets and incoming 5th graders join the Ron Clark family.

Ron Clark Academy is finally a complete school.  This year’s incoming 5th grades fill the school, which has been adding grade levels since beginning four years ago.

New students spin the wheel and are welcomed into one of four houses within the school.  They will team with the others in their house to perform, collaborate and mentor each other throughout the year.  Healthy competition between houses foster team work.

The Matchbox 20 frontman plays Hard Rock Cafe on Thursday morning for a crowd of less than a hundred Q100 winners.  Thomas played acoustic and entertained audience questions between cat calls and applause.

What a lovely way to start a Thursday.

Thomas donated the black Prada shirt he performed in to the Hard Rock’s memorabilia collection.

After autographing the shirt, Thomas added ids for sleeve, button hole and collar and was sure to note in metallic sharpie that the shirt tales should not be tucked in.

The non-profit organization Flashes of Hope is dedicated to creating uplifting portraits of children fighting cancer and other life threatening illness.  Atlanta Event Photography’s Jenni Girtman volunteered at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta on Monday morning.

Sweet, beautiful faces full of courage and families of love make the job part disappear.

In celebration of their accomplishments, the class of 1989 celebrates the 20 years since graduation from medical school at University of Ibadan in Nigeria.  The students have spread across the globe and are now practicing psychiatry, dentistry and general medicine in New Zealand, England, the Caribbean and the United States.

Dancing their way to the podium, the classmates shared where they have been and introduced their families to the group.

The children enjoyed the amazing Doodle the Clown who makes balloon creations and does amazing face painting.

Day two of the reunion includes group portraits, a banquet at the Marriott Marquis and a movie for the kids.

The class of ’89 celebrates those who traveled farthest, those who have continued their education beyond medical school and those who have the best hair (aka those baldest in the group).

Atlanta Event Photography is honored to have been at the celebration and we look forward to celebrating next year with the University of Ibadan’s class of 1990.
